My 1U Server_ServeLinux P3

好久好久...好舊好舊的1U主機

之前安裝Windows 2000 Advanced Server

跑的粉順

VGA 版本

BIOS 開機畫面

2011年將ServeLinux主機重新安裝Windows 2003 R2

也還順利

但是由於1U的主機,只有一個橫向的擴充槽(PCI Slot)

當然就安裝Combo Card (USB 2.0 + 1394 + SATA)

但是順利安裝完成OS及Drivers後

就是無法使用Combo Card的 USB 2.0 Port (另外的1394 + SATA沒測試)

只要一插上USB的隨身碟後

Windows 2003 Server 就死當

逼不得已...開始找原因

換上單一功能的 USB 2.0 Card後(不論是VIA晶片 或 NEC晶片)...

還是一樣...一插上USB隨身碟後...Windows 2003 Server就死當

於是研究主機板的BIOS設定

決定先將主機板上的USB 功能關閉

再將NEC USB 2.0 Card插上測試

進入作業系統後...

插上USB 2.0隨身碟後...

可以正常使用了....^_^...

改插上測試VIA USB 2.0 Card

進入作業系統後...

插上USB 2.0隨身碟後...>_<|||...

不幸...死當...

可見單一功能的USB 2.0 Card 仍然還是以NEC晶片的相容性最好

測試另外一片NEC USB 2.0 Card

也OK沒問題

ServeLinux P3主機板上的北橋南橋為 VIA晶片

USB Port 應該是 USB 1.0/1.1 版本

所以關閉慢速的USB 1.0/1.1是OK

這兩天安裝了Windows Server 2003 R2版的作業系統
在最後要安裝各式CODEC及影音播放軟體的時候
想說安裝一下iTunes軟體

結果經過測試
iTunes 10.5.3 (32-bit)_iTunesSetup(No QuickTime).exe 無法安裝在Windows Server 2003 R2上

iTunes 10.4.1 (32-bit)_iTunesSetup.exe也是無法安裝在Windoes Server 2003 R2上
所以乾脆就不裝了
